Managing Your Subscription

2 min read

All Plans

Subscription changes happen on the Plan tab in your portal. From there you can switch tiers, cancel, or update your card. The rules are designed to be predictable: upgrades take effect right away, downgrades wait for your next billing date, and cancellations let you keep access through the end of the period you already paid for.

Where to Manage Your Subscription

Open the portal

Log in at dotleadscout.com/portal.

Click the Plan tab

The Plan tab shows your current plan, upcoming renewal date, and Upgrade/Downgrade/Cancel buttons.

Upgrading Your Plan

Upgrades apply immediately. The moment you confirm, your plan level changes, your new features unlock, and a prorated invoice covers the difference between what you already paid and the higher tier.

What happens when you upgrade

Switching from a scheduled downgrade

If you previously scheduled a downgrade for the next cycle and change your mind, just upgrade (or re-select your current plan) and the pending downgrade is cancelled automatically.

Downgrading Your Plan

Downgrades are scheduled for your next billing date. You keep your current features — everything you paid for — until the cycle ends, and the new plan kicks in on renewal. No prorated refunds; no immediate change.

What happens when you downgrade

Changed your mind?

You can cancel a scheduled downgrade any time before the effective date by upgrading or by selecting your current plan again. No call, no email needed.

Cancelling Your Subscription

Cancellation works the same way as a downgrade: you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. On that date, your account becomes inactive and access is revoked.
Click Cancel on the Plan tab

A confirmation modal opens with the date your access will end.

Confirm

Status changes to cancelling and you receive a cancellation-scheduled email.

Keep using until period end

All your features stay active. You can export your data, save your lists, or change your mind.

Period ends, account deactivates

Status changes to cancelled. We send a final cancellation confirmation email.

Reactivating after cancellation

Cancellation isn't deletion. Your account, lists, notes, and reminders are kept on file. If you re-subscribe later, everything comes back exactly as you left it — you're not starting over.

If a Payment Fails

Payment failures happen — usually an expired card or a bank-side decline. Here's what we do:
If retries fail, your account is cancelled

If Stripe's retries all fail and you don't update your card, the subscription eventually moves to cancelled. Update your card as soon as you see the past-due banner to avoid this.

Data Retention After Cancellation

Need full data deletion?

If you want a permanent account deletion (not just cancellation), email info@dotleadscout.com and we'll process a full erasure under our privacy policy.
